SC Student Data Conference (SCSDC)

The SC Association for Educational Technology is proud to present a new conference in conjunction with SC EdTech. The SC Student Data Conference (SCSDC) at SC EdTech 2024 will offer workshops and sessions dedicated to South Carolina-specific PowerSchool reporting/data input at the school and district level and training in South Carolina state fields and requirements, as well as EdFi implementation. SCSDC will be held November 12-13, 2024 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

SCSDC was created specifically for school administrators, district-level PowerSchool users, and school-level PowerSchool users such as data clerks, guidance and attendance clerks to learn more about Ed-Fi, updated PowerSschool how-to's and form a collaborative network with other PowerSchool users from across South Carolina.

While SC EdTech 2024 offers sessions and workshops featuring a wide variety of educational technology topics, SCSDC is focused on South Carolina-specific PowerSchool training, South Carolina state fields and requirements, and Ed-Fi-related sessions and is the only event in the state to provide this level of intensive instruction. Session topics will include chronic absenteeism and truancy, state validation, real time reports, EdFi integration, unlimited contacts, EFA/EIA classification, and graduation requirements.

Improving Your Student Data Privacy Practices with CoSN's Trusted Learning Environment Program

Developed through the collaborative insight and work of national educational leadership organizations and school districts nationwide, the Consortium for School Networking's (CoSN) Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal program embodies your commitment to safeguard the privacy of student data. Join us in this workshop where we'll cover student data privacy fundamentals and more. As you expand your privacy knowledge, you'll also learn how to leverage the CoSN TLE privacy framework to support improvements in your school system's data privacy program, help you better manage your student data, and build trust within your community. We'll work through various data privacy challenges together, and you'll leave the workshop with a plan for your next steps in building and improving your district's privacy program.
